Windows 7 USB Connection Set-up
The StarAid Revolution implements a standard USB Ethernet/RNDIS Gadget. Unfortunately Windows 7 does not automatically install the device driver for this. This page provides instructions to install the correct device driver.
Instructions
Step-by-step guide:
Plug the StarAid USB cable into the PC.
Start the Windows device manager by typing
devmgmt.msc
and press↵ Enter
.Browse to Other devices and right-click on RNDIS/Ethernet Gadget. Select Update driver software:
Select Browse my computer for driver software:
Select Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer:
Scroll down and select Network adapters, then click Next:
Scroll down the Manufacturers list on the left, and select Microsoft. Scroll down the Network Adapters list on the right and select Remote NDIS Compatible Device. Click Next:
Click Yes if you get the following warning:
Wait for the driver to finish installing:
You can now access the StarAid Web App via http://169.254.54.1/. Note that the connection may take up to a minute to set-up the first time.
