Why can't I see my StarAid on WiFi?

Problem

The StarAid WiFi access-point is not showing up when I want to connect my device.

Solution

Follow these steps to troubleshoot the issue:

  1. If connected, disconnect the USB cable from StarAid.

  2. Disconnect the power from StarAid.

  3. Power StarAid up via the Splitter using the supplied power adaptor, or a DC power supply that provides the required 6 to 13.8 V.

  4. Wait for the LED’s to start blinking on StarAid.

  5. Wait a further 10 seconds.

  6. Use your mobile device to see if the StarAid WiFi access point is visible.

  7. If the StarAid WiFi access point is visible, connect to it normally and skip the rest of the instructions.

  8. If the StarAid WiFi access point is still not visible, follow these steps to reset all user settings to defaults.

  9. If the problem still is not resolved, please request technical support via the StarAid Support Centre.

The StarAid WiFi access-point will be disabled if StarAid is powered up via USB. StarAid can function as a guider via USB power, but USB power is insufficient to enable the WiFi. To avoid problems with WiFi, always power StarAid up via the splitter first, and only connect USB (if needed) once the LED starts blinking.
